Certificazione di Italiano come Lingua Straniera
(CILS) is a certificate of Italian language proficiency
sanctioned by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. CILS
is administered by the Università per Stranieri di Siena.

CILS For Business
Many Italian companies and government agencies
operating in Italy and abroad require CILS certification
to prove linguistic competence in the Italian language.

CILS For Study
Foreign students who have this certification do not
have to take an entrance exam to prove their knowledge
of the language when applying to Italian schools.

The CILS Exam
The Language Institute is the only agency in New Jersey
accredited by the University to administer the CILS exam.
The exam is given twice yearly, in June and December.

Exams are currently scheduled for the following dates:

• December 1, 2011
• June 7, 2012

Exam Registration
For a registration form, right-click here, then select
"Save Target As..." or "Print target".

Registration for the exam must be completed by 40 days prior
to the exam date.
